I had several problems getting my bike ready to ride
By John Schaefer
1. Both pedal cones were much too tight, so they didn't rotate freely. They're adjustable by prying out the black plastic cap if you have the right metric socket, but you have to know to set them about .010" too loose by feel so that when you re-tighten the locknut the clearance is just right.2. Someone else said here that their bike came with the derailleur adjusted just right. Mine was way out of whack...which turned out to be because the frame tab that the derailleur mounts to was bent about 5 degrees off the correct angle to the bike axis. Fortunately (I guess) the low-strength steel used for the frame allowed the tab to easily be bent to the right angle. Then I had to reset all three setup screws and the cable length trim. This is kind of an exotic thing to be wrong with a brand new bike.3. Both wheels are out of true...about a sixteenth of an inch in roundness and another sixteenth of an inch in flatness. I'd expect a factory-new bike's wheels to have been built in an indicator-jig so that they'd be almost exactly flat and round.4. One frame mount for the front brakes is welded to the fork several degrees out of place around the tube, compared to the other side...so the pads don't hit the wheel at the same angle, even after brake adjustment. (Which they totally needed, out of the box.) Unfortunately this frame situation is unfixable. It doesn't make the bike unrideable, but it's aggravating because the brakes have to be set substantially farther from the rim to avoid rubbing, due to the combination of the goofy pad angle and the out-of-flatness wheels.5. I wanted to remove the rear fender to try to fix a shipping dent. Oops, the recess of the bottom Phillips-head mounting screw was stripped out. I got it out with some special pliers that could reach into that location and bite into the screwhead. I could have drilled it out...but why should that be necessary on a new bike?6. While the fenders were off, I also noted that they're made with a metal fold at the ends and sides, so as not to have an outward-facing sharp edge...but these folds will hold water and mud, and the insides of the steel fenders have very sparse paint. I expect that if I were to leave my bike outside or ride it much in wet weather, or if I lived near salt water, these locations and several others related to the steel frame and forks would be rusty pretty quickly. Of course, this wouldn't be a problem for buyers in nice-weather locations.Edit: two later-realized issues:7. The crank axle is about 8mm too long for the crank bearing housing. I assume the bike maker (I think Tianjin Peerless Sport Equipment Company, based on online import records) just used the wrong one. So, there's a considerable opening for crud to get into what properly should be a sealed area. I'll fabricate a special EVA foam seal for mine. I don't know what the average customer would do, if they don't have the ability to fabricate fixes.8. Oddly, as delivered the kickstand is too long for the bike. You put it down, try to lean the bike on it, and it causes the bike to lean the wrong way and of course fall over. Not good. I reviewed the frame welding in that area because there are several other bent or weld-jigged-off-angle frame issues; the kickstand mount however appears to be correct. It must be that kickstands themselves come in different lengths, perhaps depending on wheel type/diameter, and the bike maker again just used the wrong one. A fix by cutting the kickstand rod shorter would be a bad idea because it would cut off the plastic foot, which is useful in keeping the kickstand from sinking into soft materials. I fixed mine by fabricating a shim from aluminum, so that the kickstand mounting plate is at an angle to the frame mounting point and the bike leans toward that side. Again, I don't know what the average consumer would do.

Great Bike!
By sas
By far the greatest commuter bike in terms of quality, packaging, colors, and value. I cannot believe that for $300 with free shipping you get a bike that would cost $1000+ in a bike shop! Assembly was easy (first time building a bike) and it was packaged pretty well. Also, when I had a question, the manufacturer was able to help me out over the phone. The frame geometry is really comfortable. I feel like I can sit pretty upright, and the bike is not not heavy at all. Shimano drivetrain with grip shifters are so comfortable and impressive. I've seen plenty of city bikes with thumb shifters or even worse down tube shifters. My derailleur was working great and tuned right out of the box. The tires are awesome. I've put serious miles on this thing and no problems at all. I also think they are a great color and perfect size. It rides nice and smooth on imperfect roads. I also find that the bike is pretty lightweight, not that I ever carry it.... This was a great purchase. Gonna buy the step-through version for my lady soon!

Great Bicycle!
By Willem
I recently purchased the 55 cm version of this bicycle in black and it's really great! The delivery was prompt and the assembly was relatively straightforward. Its front lamp, gear rack and fenders really make it an ideal bicycle for riding in a university setting that frequently features snow and rain. That being said, it doesn't skimp on performance.Happy riding!
