I primarily wanted to get a folding bike for campus use. As most know, parking at college is meant to torture the students. I am also running late as well, so I figured instead of leaving my bike rack mount all the time and hauling my full size bike everywhere, a folding bike seemed like an acceptable solution to the problem.I have to be honest, this bike rides very well. However, I should note that since you are using smaller wheels, stability at times can be questionable when turning. There are many steep hills around my school, and going up hill did not take too much effort, which is important. The seat is very comfortable and the bike is very stylish. I only had the bike for a short time period so I cannot comment on its longevity but so far, the bike seem well constructed. For the price, this is a very nice commuter bike for short distance traveling. Now to the part where I must say I am disappointed. Based on technicality, this bike does fold and would qualify it as a folding bike but we will get to that in a moment. Owning a folding bike should add convenience to your life and I would have to say that this bike does add the convenience in traveling on campus, but beyond that, it did not really add much valued to my daily routine. The bike itself does fold in the middle and the moving that mechanism is pretty simple, but that's about as easy this bike will get. From this point forward, it is no longer a folding bike. The handle bar does not fold down, it actually just comes off, which I wish they would of described it. I know you can just push the handle bar down, but those handle bars are still horizontal and they take up valuable real estate space in a tiny trunk. I have to take the handle bar off to make them fully fit. Dahon bike's handle bars do fold down in-between the two wheels when folded. This help maximize space saving. In hindsight, knowing just that simple detail, I would have opted not to purchase this bike. Another complaint is that after you fold the bike, there is no mechanism to keep the bike folded. The bike constantly tries to spread itself open faster than a hooker on a Friday night. With that in mind, I have to keep the bike together and attempt to make sure the handle bar does not dangle around and fumbling to fit it into my trunk.Unfortunately, those last features are such killer points that it is hard for me to give it high rating (even though it does ride exceptionally well) or even recommend to individuals who wants a folding bike for convenience. Also keep in mind, if you do choose to want to receive a refund, shipping cost is nearly 1/3 to 1/4 the price of the bike. So basically you are practically stuck with this purchase. So my advice is that even though it has a very tempting price, think carefully before you make the purchase. That money spent could be used towards a more reputable brand with better features.

This bike is great. Overall I totally love it.Pros:- Lightweight. I can carry it on the subway and up and down stairs with no problems.- It folds very quickly and easily. I can go from folded to open and vice versa in like 5 seconds.- One of my favorite features is the low bar height. This makes it easy to step on and off the bike quickly.- Shelf over the back tire. My 7 year old rides back there when we are doing our joy rides on bike paths and around central park, and he is is heaven.- Versatility. It is comfortable for me and I'm 5'10, and my wife drops the seat and rides it fine, and she is 4'10. So this bike works well for anyone in that range. For people over 5'10 it might be a bit small.- Worked out of the box. Just had to put a little air in the tires.- Looks. This bike just looks cool. People comment on it all the time.- Value. Great bike for the money.Cons:- One of the cable is fraying a bit. Not a big deal.- The plastic brake handles feel a bit cheap, but work totally fine.I highly recommend this bike.

By J. Foster
As a Prius driver and a bicyclist, I was not about to ruin my great little car with a bicycle rack which can lower gas mileage into the 37 mpg range. This bicycle was the answer. It arrived quickly in a big box and was a breeze to assemble (although it did take me a second look to discover that the folding mechanism is actually two separate mechanisms (check the company's video before you try to fold it). The price was right and it is a full 7-speed bike that folds in 30 seconds into a compact unit that fits neatly in the Prius storage area behind the back seat. I used it to explore the famed abandoned tunnels of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and it worked perfectly and moved me along at a decent speed. I was so impressed that I purchased a second one (a 26 inch model) from the same manufacturer and have used it for several months without difficulty. The only slightly difficult part of this bike is correctly adjusting the brakes (I prefer center-pull types).
